Emery is 4 months old! She weighs 11 lbs 15 oz and 23 1/4 inches long. She is still pretty petite but has grown. We had a great report at our 4 month check up and Emery is right on track. She is such a great baby and everyday is a blessing with her. Brent and I just love hanging out with our little girl as a family. I just love thinking that everything we do together is the first time Emery has ever done that particular thing. Speaking of firsts, we visited Greune Hall a few weeks ago with Grammy, Grandpa, Mimi and PawPaw. It was such a beautiful day and we just love the hill country town of Greune, Tx. It is amazing how the short 30 min drive to Greune can relax us all. After our day in Greune we went to wonderful dinner at Macado's in New Branfels. If you have never been to Macado's you need to go. It is located in an old restored post office in the heart of the town. I had the BEST seafood gumbo and key lime pie! YUMMY!
This month Emery loves sucking on her hand and really anything you put in her sight. She drools all the time, bibs are a must these days. Loves mommy and daddy talking to her so she can smile big! Emery brings her hand up to hold her bottle. She babbles all the time and loves standing up on my lap. Her head control is really getting strong and tummy time is becoming much more enjoyable. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!
Today I am reminded of all the LOVE that surrounds me. I feel so thankful and blessed. The LOVE of my GOD, my FAMILY and my FRIENDS is truly amazing. My life would not be possible with out their LOVE.
"You shall LOVE the LORD your GOD with all your HEART, all your soul and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it. You shall LOVE your neighbor as yourself. "
Matthew 22:37-39
We had two Valentine's outfits so we had to wear both of them!! Red is definitely my color!

3 Months...where have you been?
I know it has been a while since my last blog but this mom is busy loving on her little girl!! Emery Catherine is now 3 months old. She has just grown so much. Her looks are starting to change and her movements are just getting so big. We are just loving every moment of getting to know her more and more. It is just amazing to compare pictures of her at 1 month and now 3 months. See below.
She loves her play gym, sucking on her entire hand, kicking her legs and smiling. She recognizes our voices and will follow us around the room with her eyes. Emery also loves watching Goose walk around the room. Emery makes new noises everyday. We do not have a full out giggle yet but we are very close. We are working on sitting up in the bumbo and holding our head up.
As you can tell from the 3 month photos we are much more active, we are all smiles and we slowly wiggled our way to a face plant in the glider. At 2 months we did not like our bow and at 1 month our new born onesie was way too big.

A full Month!
I know that moms say this all the time but really time goes by so fast. I can't believe that our little Miss Emery is one month old. She is most definitely getting bigger and we are getting to know each other more and more each day. I have almost figured out the meaning of every noise she makes. I am amazed by how much she seems to be eating and how big her movements have gotten. She still holds her hands close to her head at all times but her legs are starting to really get moving. She will briefly hold her head up and open her eyes very wide as to take one good look at all her surroundings. I just wonder what she thinks about this big world.;)
On her one month birthday....
Emery likes to be held, likes the pacifier and is getting too long for her newborn clothes. When she eats she gets a big buddah style belly which is very cute on her tiny body.
week one
week two
week three
buddah milk belly
week four...happy thanksgiving

Emery is Here and 2 weeks old!!
I am sorry it has taken me so long to update this blog but as every mom knows there is not much time in the first few days to have any time for your self. Now we are 2 weeks old day and I have a little bit of time between feedings to get a few "me" things done. ;)
Emery Catherine Adcock was born on Oct 27 at 7:29am, she was 5 lbs 14 ounces 19.25 inches long. She was born via scheduled c section because she was breech. I am sure many people have specific things that they remember about their birth stories and mine was sweet Emery's eyes when the Dr showed her to me. They were so bright and open, just reminded me of her daddy. I also cherish the video Brent took and his infectious happy laugh that was captured by the video. That birth moment is a high that can not be explained. The ultimate miracle, a little baby girl. She is my angel and I am in love with her from this moment on...forever and ever!!
Overall, my c section went well and my recovery was not bad. I feel very blessed that my pain was minimal because caring for a newborn is alot of work that can not be put on hold because of my own pain.
Even though you can not drive nor leave your house the diapers, feedings, lack of sleep, feedings and more diapers 24/7 is enough to wear a person out. I think in the first 2 days, it becomes very obvious that the feedings are going to be the thing that will take the most getting used to. Figuring out the feeding needs of the baby while your hormones are regulating is very interesting and has made me really appreciate my family. I want to thank them for their support during all of that and never once making me feel like I was crazy or that I could not do it. All I know is that I did not give up on the breast feeding, I was accepting of any and all advice and now I have a healthy baby weighing 6 lbs 4 oz to be exact. Although that is still small, she is heavier than her birth weight and that is what matters. And this makes mommy very happy!!
At the pediatrician's office today, we got a great 2 week report. Now we do not go back till 2 months. I also have my 2 week post surgery appointment on Saturday, which I am sure will go well. I am hoping they release me to drive and do a little exercise. I look forward to taking Miss E on her first walk around the block.
As I said before I am so in love with Miss Emery and I just love every moment we spend together. She is such a sweet snuggler and I just love her big bright eyes that she has been opening more and more these days. As I get to know her, I get so excited about the memories we have already made and the memories to be made. Many of the memories we have already made include many friends and family visits which just shows how loved and blessed our little Emery is. Thank you all for your calls, messages, gifts, meals and visits. I just love sharing this little blessing with everyone.
In my next post, I will put up some pictures but for now it is time to feed.....:)
